Here are my personal favorite doom metal bands:

1.) My Dying Bride
2.) Winter
3.) November's Doom
4.) Thergothon
5.) Therion (old stuff only)

In order of 1 being the best and so forth, but that's just my opinion check out what sounds the best to you...

No. Not lamb of god. Theyre like religious metal.

Pretty Hate Machine is poppy...but by no means a bad album. Industrial NIN is more along the lines of Broken and Downward Spiral...I don't really like Broken though, nor Fixed. Hmm.

I'm not too much into Industrial right now, but for Doom I'd recommend My Dying Bride, and early Katatonia and Anathema.

Their is no such thing as good doom or industrial so instead try Fuck...I'm Dead and Ghoul (Infact most bands on Razorback) and for depressing bullshit thats like doom but not Katatonia is always good.

If you're into more poppy stuff like that, check out The Anix (www.theanix.com), Club Decease (www.clubdecease.net), Vanity Beach (www.vanity-beach.com), The Birthday Massacre (www.nothingandnowhere.com), Deadsy (www.deadsy.com) and Zeromancer (www.zeromancer.com)

Yeah, read up on it at http://www.doom-metal.com/. doom is one of my favorite elements in music. it's very funereal, atmospheric & dark. Apparently, Black Sabbath was a branching-off point for Doom metal and is considered the first doom metal band. That is, however, debatable considering most of the first "doom metal" bands listened to, and were influenced by, Black Sabbath. So really, a cult following labeled Sabbath as "Doom". genres really fuck with music sometimes

I forgot to name some bands

check out Katatonia,Fall of Empyrean & Nadja to name a few. oh, and even though they're a little cheesy and seem to be just a doomier version of marilyn manson, Death SS are worth a look.
