Mike Vallely's new book of collected / selected poems from 1989-1999 ("Dusk Like
Fire") is now available for order in the Mike V. Store. This book features 30
poems written by Mike V between the ages of 19 and 29. Says Mike, "I learned a
lot about myself, I went through a lot, I put myself through a lot during those
years and the writing, the words were necessary -- were vital to me coming out
clean on the other side. It's in the words, in the process of putting them down
where I am able to really see myself and what matters most to me. These poems
represent what I feel is my best or most important work during that time
period."

There are several main themes in this collection of poems: Family, religion /
spirituality, small town life, growing up and isolation. Featured are some of

They think it is a joke because he is not

most people just see him skate and they rarely get to hear his opinion of certain matters, mostly pertaining to skateboarding. he has a profound outlook on skating in general, and id like to buy a copy.
