Does anybody know how to grab a screenshot from a .wmv file when viewing it with Windows Media Player? I've tried using the print screen button, but when I copy it into photoshop, all I get is a black screen where the image from the video is supposed to be.

Click the picture that looks like a camera in the preview window.

turn off hardware acceleration, aka video acceleration. It's under tools-options-performance

it's a slider that you'll have to slide to zero

Where is this picture that looks like a camera? I'm not seeing it, maybe I've got an older version or something.

Go to the options and drag acceleration to 0.....then ok it.....pause the video....take a normal screenshot....open it in psp or sumthen and crop it...save as a .jpeg :D

There are programs that (with the proper codecs) will allow you to take screenshots of a frame of video without having to turn off video acceleration. Virtual Dub is one.

snag it, is another. Also if you have adobe premiere, just capture the frame
