hey. i figured some people here had to have an apple so i was wondering if they are good. i was thinking about the eMac because the iMac is a little to expensive. the only concer i have is that some things wont be compatible like games. i was also wondering if you like apple better than PC. and i wanted to know if most games work for apple. the computer was just going to be for me and not my family. am i better of getting a regular dell for like 1000 or the eMac?? thanks for the help dudesss

70-80% of PC software today is not MAC compatable.

That right there is reason enough for me to not want one.

It depends what you want to do.

The next version of Virtual PC for MAC will be Direct X compatible though, so basically all Windows apps will work -- Games will, sorta, but you're going to need a TON of RAM because Virtual PC will consume 256.

I don't need a MAC, I have no use for one. Plus Intel hooked Stand Undefeated and I w/ some some badass pcs

I mean, from a developers standpoint, you'd probably go with a MAC. Adobe suites, other tools etc.

But if you are the average home user, avoid it.

the only people who i know use MAC are buisnesses and thats still limited..

Macs cant really get viruses that often. Also, the emacs COMe with Tony hawks pro skater 4 so ya there good for games.

A lot of games are not Mac compatable though. I remember how long it would take for a port... like Unreal wasn't available for a Mac for the LONGEST time.

I capitalize MAC, because I'm so used to writing MAC Address in networking class.

i guess that makes good enough sense.
plus, that means you're smarter than me.

also, i have never been able to find a game that i actually want that isn't for mac.
or most software.
sure, it takes awhile for the wait, and that is annoying, but anyone with a bit of patience can bear it.
unless you're one of those, pre-order-Diablo-II-3-years-before-it's-released people.
