i got issue 60 of 411 for christmas as well as really sorry so
411- Issue 60- my favorite part of this dvd was all the bails footage. there was so much of it. it was pretty funny when this fat kid fell of his bike. The skating was pretty good in the beginning because it was the best footage they had over 10 years or something. the Koston profile was cool. it was old footage tho. they had a day in the life but i thought that was pretty bad. i didnt really like that part. i think thats all that was on the video. there was also 2 bonus disc's with 10 best chaos articles and 10 best articles. idnt watch those yet but they are probably awsome. there is also a cd with music from 411 video.
Really Sorry- I liked this video because its sorry and really sorry on 1 disc. it kinda sucks if u got sorry already. Arto's part had some good footage but there was part when he broke his board on a huge stair set and it said the filming was cut short or something so there wasnt a lot of stuff. Geoff was next. I think his part was the best. i never really like Rowley before but this made him 1 of my favorites. Ali, Tom Penny, and Appleyard also had good parts. i think the dvd is worth getting if u dont have sorry. if u have sorry, 30 bucks might seem like a lot for 30 minutes of footy. i dont know, but the vhs might be w/o sorry and cheaper.
id say get both videos cuz i loved them.
so now that i got that off my chest i feel a lot better. wow i wrote a lot. hah
ok reviews
animal chin- an old skate video that is really hard to find. i think they are re-releasing it. its a great video. its from the bones-brigade days. the sakters include lance mountain, tony hawk (he was really young) steve caballero, Tommy guerrero, and mike mcGill. i really liked it cause it had everything, street, vert and freestyle. oh and a gay storyline about looking for the very first skater.... an old chinese man lol. its funny. the skating in it is great and u get to see diffrerent styles from different skaters. and u get to see how skating was in the early 80s (?? i think)
its a must see, its very different from the vids we have today.
for newer skate videos
both of the black label vids are awsome blackout and label kills, great variety of skaters. jason adams mixs up his moves to create really impressive runs pulling off tricks u dont see everyday, while still hitting big rails and doing the shit kids expect today. ragdoll tries creative gaps and really uses his surroundings well.hendrix rips it up on the vert ramp which i dont see too much in vids. there is alos a huge line up of skaters on both of the videos. the videos are also put together with a lot of effort, with good music chosen and superb editing.
one of my favorite vids is pj ladds wonderful horrible life. theres skaters i have never heard of from a shop called "coliseum" ripping it up. pj ladds part is something u just gotta see. he does multiple grinds on on an object and is always doing tricks in and out of the grinds. its really short tho, about a half an hour
i think ill psot some more reviews... or opinions heh, later on
p.s fyi i am a skate mod! lol and the others are always on too, just dont post much, they lurk in the shadows.....

god, Batien had the best part. That Switch heelflip over that tripple 3 was fucking amazing...I don't know how you couldnt meniton Bastein.
I was Quite Disapointed at Artos Part in "Really Sorry" (Not Sorry, he was the best in Sorry)There wasnt a single handrail in that (That he landed)and it wasn't long enough..I dont know why his part was cut short..but they could have used some old un-used footage from menikmati or the original sorry to fill in a bit of it..He did put down a few good tricks, though..
In Sorry, I say the best parts were: 1.Arto 2.Geoff, and in Really Sorry:1.Bastien 2.Appleyard..

heres my review for Underworld: Under Rated:
Underworld is a shop located in Montreal, Canada, established around 1996. In 2001 (i believe), they released their first skate tape, Under Rated. This vid is packed with virtually unknown Canadian skaters, aside from Dan Pageau and Grant Patterson, Bootleg's newest am (look at the back cover of the newest issue of thrasher...king of the road issue). Plenty of good skating, and extras as well.
Go to www.underworld-shop.com (http://www.underworld-shop.com) and order the dvd. At $16.99 canadian, how can you not?
ps. in no way, shape, or form am i employed by underworld. just a big fan.

 ...nah its shit...
its decent...jeremy wray is sick...every part except bams was good.
for bam I thought what he had was good, but the footage in that was old and got reused like 50 times im so many things.
Sadly thats all the good footage he has ever gotten, thats why he has used it forever, and has been lazy when it comes to skating and hasnt done anything good since.

dude...Bam was fucking awesome,it doesnt matter if he didnt do a bunch of big stairs and handrails, he had great style..tricks arent the only thing that makes skating good.
Edit:Metalica, Bam has some new footage in T.H.U.G., just to let you know, he threw some stairs in there too :D

anybody see drive with vallely? is it good?
yeah it was pretty good
The best vallely video was his greatest hits, so much good stuff that most people have never seen
i donno, gratest hits wasnt really about the skating, so i woulnt say it was his best, its not even close actually. that vid is more if u wanna see vallely beat the shit out of people and hear him tell the story behind it heh.
yeah I know, it depends on the aspect of him you want to see, drive has some really good skating.
But I really think that everyone should watch the 3 video set of tony hawks gigantic skatepark tour.
3 vhs's for like 12 bucks, lots of good skating, skydiving, and just good fun stuff.
Well worth the incredibly cheap price.

in the flip video: sorry, where arto sarri almost dies, does ayone know if there is real footage of that, and also if you would know where to get it( if its possible to get)
No there is no avalible footage of that. It was on a warm up trick and Geoff hadnt taken his camera out for the big trick he was going to do (switch kickflip backside smith, I think) He got caught up and landed on his head, started to get up, puked, and then passed out in it.
And actually when they show him getting in the ambulance and all that, its just a re-inactment

The new osiris video is pretty wicked awsome Louie Bartletta/Jerry Hsu part at the end is the most wicked awsome hilarious video part I've seen in a while.
And it has Ali Boulala in it to boot, what could be bad about it? It was sort of short, and it has some vert skating in it (PLG) but it also has lots of kickin' street action and some innovation from Barletta and Hsu, so if that's what your into, pick it up fo' sho!

Yeah, I have, its quite good...uhh, be happy the original sorry is on it, though, because it 5x as good. But don't get me wrong Really Sorry was still great.I think Bastien had the best part, he greatly improved on his previouse part. The worst part, Im afraid, goes to Arto. I don't know what happened, he through down a few good tricks, but it's much less than you'd expect of Arto, let alone the anyone else on the team.I said it before, and I'll say it again, they should have used some old un-used footage from menikmati or the original sorry, instead using Artos injury as an excuse for a low quality part. But anyways, all in all, its a great video, less than you would expect, but great nonetheless..
(and BTW, Geoffs "Dedicated to the lord" thing was great.Im really more of an aethiest, but anti-christ is close enough ^_^ )

hey all. i have just recently recieved a free DC video in one of the regular magazines. it lasts the whole eight minutes. the dvd is the dc uk team in athens, highlights are some dude snapping his leg. and someone trying a 20 set in a narrow alley way. bah, its a freebie whaddya expect.
heres some reviews.
etnies: hating life
this is a etnies uk team video. featuring the awesome rodney clark along with scott palmer, lee dainton and ali cairns. overall pretty impressive for damn english skaters. theres about 10 minutes of bails and about 10 minutes of vert. the rest is pure street. i reckon the highlights were rodney clarks section and mike manzooris part because the music is awesome (hehe) and theres plenty of unknown skaters on the guns n roses part. 8/10
cinema board buddy:a punk rock skate video
not that impressed, theres some good skating but from whom??? the names arent shown so theres 45 minutes of un named skaters. the music is awesome feturing songs from bands like. jimmy eat world. midtown, AFI, and last but not least Taking back sunday with theier amazing song, cute with out the "E". and on this one you have two options... 45 minutes of skating or 45 minutes of music videos. 6/10
ps. has anyone seen toy machine jump off a building, i must watch it before i die. reviews please.

i want really sorry but its £25 n i aint got much money i heard it is worth it tho
bam has two parts in jump off a building. bam skates in FDR in one and uses genesis 12a. his part has a lot of tailslides and 180 kickflips and things like that. it also has the billy idol skit on it. maldanado is also on it he probably has the 2nd best part. kerry getz's part would have to be my fav. techy. i would say its worth buying. but if your gonna buy jump off a building i would buy welcome to hell also or just get the box set like i did.

Just purchased/watched Anti-Hero's 'Tent City' and im not sure what i think of it really. I definately liked it, but it is no where near the average Flip or DC video. There is no skater sections, just 'place' sections, as it is filmed during a month on the road in Australia, and is sort of like a skatedoc(umentary). I think that in the whole thing ther is about 2 kickflips, 5 tricks down rails(2 bailed, 3 landed i think). The rest is Tony T and his crue rippin up humunga-dunga drainage ditches and pools along the way, with lots of concrete skateparks. It is also filmed with 3 diferent types of film, super8, super8 colour(i think thats what it is called) and digital film.
Think of it what you may, but i like it what ever you american bad ass punks think, hahahaha
P.s. Go buy it, watch it, and the watch it again....

I think that theyre really good, ive got the second and third issues, the 3rd issue has unseen skating footy of the flip team, mainly rowley and penny, from '93
Just saw Black Label's Black out aswell, and i have to admit it is one of the best videos i have ever seen, if not the best, the editing is really good, and the skatings even better.
By the way, has anyone seen Squadrophenia, by the Death team??What is it like??

Patrick Melcher
Ben Gilley
Adam Alfaro
Ragdoll
Chet Childress
Jim Gaghe
Omar Hassan
Salman Agah
Wade Speyer
Duane Peters
Jub
Ricky Espinoza
Pat Rakestraw
Jhovay Vidal
The extras arent that great, its got a couple of music vids, and the only skating is a demo which i am yet to see.
But the whole vid, if i remember correctly is about 45 mins long so its a pretty long vid. Ragdoll has the opening section.
I dont think that thats in it, its just a gnarly pic i found on there website-----> www.blacklabelskates.com (http://www.blacklabelskates.com)
I haven't seen much talk about the Hot Chocolate video..oh well..here it comes,
I would consider " Hot Chocolate " to be the best vid ever. I'll start off with the commentary. It's really cool how the guys talk about their tour and such, but when watching it, I get this feeling in me like, yeah, you're totally right, i wanna get my board and go skating right fucking now! Marc Johnsons part is the best I quote " Skateboarding is just a state of mind, you're body only reacts to whats up in your head. If you can think of a trick, you can basically do it." That part just gets me into it you know, and then I'll start pushing myself everytime I skate...enough crap. Really fun is also the beginning, when that whole group of skaters are skating through the city , awesome. But the most important , the skating!
I think theres some sick skating in that vid and i think a lot will agree.
And the gayest part in that vid has to be the part with Richard in the tour bus. " We're going to the Sugar Ray concert up in Nashville"
"what kinda music do you like?" " Hiiiip-hoooop"
just listen to that part, and notice his voice and tone he uses to say that..oh well...awesome vid!

I HATED 'yeah right' All it was is great editing. The whole thing is so fake, for example when it shows Owen Wilson he gets a skateboard out and they cut to someone else saying he can't do it then you don't see his face and jumps the stairs or grind (it has been a while since I seen it I am going off memory) 'Owen' goes out of the screen then some dude pops out and goes crazy for like 15 seconds and then Owen wilson pops out again. I think they used someone else to do his part. Also the video makes it seem like this dude jumped up three stairs and grinds the rails but if you look closly they edited out the ramp he used and made it look that way. It is impossible that he did that, he would have tripped into the stairs if he really did it. The whole rest of the video is like that too.

Well, the Owen Wilson thing was supposed to be funny. Obviously a little too sophisticated for you. And the invisible ramps where supposed to go with the invisible boards, it was just something they did for kicks to make the video original and stand out from all the videos with just skating. And no, the whole rest of the video is not like that, your full of shit.
Welp, I'd say it's safe to say you have NO idea what your talking about

So you're saying it's crap because the editing is too good? You're an idiot.

Daewon Song
Paul Rodriguez
Brandon Biebel
Kenny Anderson
Greg Lutzka
Kenny Reed-apart from daewon songs, his section is my favourite
Joey Brezinski-also has a very very good section but the song lets it down
Stefan Janoski-only had 1 run and 1 rail(must have joined the team late)
overall 7/10

its not bad, Dustin Dollin has a nice part but I was disappointed, I thought Geoff Rowley and Mark Appleyard would have a run! all they have is at the end there on a half-pipe out in the middle of the woods. But the half-pipe segment is awesome, Tom Penny is in it too and Geoff Rowley just shreds the hell out of that half-pipe! I didnt know he was so good at half-pipes!

ok reviews
animal chin- an old skate video that is really hard to find. i think they are re-releasing it. its a great video. its from the bones-brigade days. the sakters include lance mountain, tony hawk (he was really young) steve caballero, Tommy guerrero, and mike mcGill. i really liked it cause it had everything, street, vert and freestyle. oh and a gay storyline about looking for the very first skater.... an old chinese man lol. its funny. the skating in it is great and u get to see diffrerent styles from different skaters. and u get to see how skating was in the early 80s (?? i think)
its a must see, its very different from the vids we have today.
for newer skate videos
both of the black label vids are awsome blackout and label kills, great variety of skaters. jason adams mixs up his moves to create really impressive runs pulling off tricks u dont see everyday, while still hitting big rails and doing the shit kids expect today. ragdoll tries creative gaps and really uses his surroundings well.hendrix rips it up on the vert ramp which i dont see too much in vids. there is alos a huge line up of skaters on both of the videos. the videos are also put together with a lot of effort, with good music chosen and superb editing.
one of my favorite vids is pj ladds wonderful horrible life. theres skaters i have never heard of from a shop called "coliseum" ripping it up. pj ladds part is something u just gotta see. he does multiple grinds on on an object and is always doing tricks in and out of the grinds. its really short tho, about a half an hour
i think ill psot some more reviews... or opinions heh, later on
p.s fyi i am a skate mod! lol and the others are always on too, just dont post much, they lurk in the shadows.....
PJ ladds video was one of the best videos i have ever seen PJ ladd is an insane skater with some awsome switch flip tricks. He can do anything he dose some pretty sweet flip tricks to grinds. What did you think about the girl in that video.

i got issue 60 of 411 for christmas as well as really sorry so
411- Issue 60- my favorite part of this dvd was all the bails footage. there was so much of it. it was pretty funny when this fat kid fell of his bike.
Ali, Tom Penny, and Appleyard also had good parts. i think the dvd is worth getting if u dont have sorry. if u have sorry, 30 bucks might seem like a lot for 30 minutes of footy. i dont know, but the vhs might be w/o sorry and cheaper.
id say get both videos cuz i loved them.
so now that i got that off my chest i feel a lot better. wow i wrote a lot. hah
I got really sorry when i read this review i liked it but it wasn't all that cool compared to some of the other skate movies I've seen. Bam is at the end he grinds a rail and thats it i caught it the first time because you cant see his face but it looks like him from behind and hes wearingg a CKY hat. They gave credits to him and gee at the end.

dunno if anyones had a say on it already, but what the heck...
just got behold, the new consolidated video for £5, yes very cheap, and i must say its fucking amazing.
all the sections are very good, but for me brian heck's is the best. he starts his section with a very clean 180 blunt on the sketchiest 6ft high vert iver ever seen(its some ply proped up against a fencewith crates underneath it!), he does some very nice smooth bs flips and does the longest feeble ive ever seen. he also has a very nice style.
im sure alan petersens section could have been better if he did not do an arto style ending, cutting it short with a life threatening bail. he dropped in a very very big flat bank, then, as he hit the flat he somehow flew forwards off his board about 10ft, then bounced about 2ft high straight into the far side if a large 6ft wide square drain head first. and to top it all off he fell in a load of poo water at the bottom.
the main vid is an hour long, with 30 mins of bunus footy(incl. THE best trick ever, hint: mark nicholson+mk ledges)
i give it 10/10, no joke.
i doubt tht made sense but who cares, it makes sense to me.....kinda....i guess..

The Toy Machine dvd is definately one of my favourites right now. Go watch the special feature called "Austin's OG sponsor tape" or something like that. He does all these rad tricks then suddenly snaps his ankle. Poor dude. It freaked me out cause it was so unexpected.

who saw the volcom video?I didnt like it....the skating wasnt anything amazing (some was alright) and i hated the way they edited everything and the way they mixed peoples parts toghter and all the african skate spots or whatever that was.....it would've been good for bonus features but not a complete video....thats my opinion

The skate shop had a promo store copy of Killself playing so I thought they had it in already, but turns out the proper version isn't out yet. I was so disappointed. I want it!
Edit: I bought What If? a few days ago. It's my favourite dvd at the moment, but I'll admit there are other videos out there with a lot more hammers and shit. I still like the dvd a lot though, it has a rad vibe to it and makes me want to go out and skate.

Hmm, The parts weren't that long though.. I liked Jake Brown's part.. His kickflip to b/s boardslide was sick. Creager's part was awesome too, that switch f/s tailside 270 heelflip on a bench was amazing.

Yep I bought the dvd. I love it. But I have to say that mullen and song's parts getting pretty boring. Their parts are definately not something I would put on before I go for a skate. Haslam, lutzka and Sheckler's parts are my favourite.
I noticed that they set up the dvd so that either mullen's or song's part would be last in random, so each time you watch it, it randomly plays either one of their parts last. I think they fucked it up though, cause sometimes when I watch it, the bling rapper guy's (forgot his name) part doesn't play as if it's not even in the video. Anyone else noticed that?

His part is like a toned down version of mullen and song's part in round 3. I still liked it a lot better than those 2 though. The song and creager's style is a lot more entertaining.

Zero - New Blood = Old skaters, Thomas, Cole. And a bunch of new addition's to the team, or New Blood. That's how this ad in my skateshop describes it at least...
Anyways, finally got my subscription to The Skateboard Mag and my Almost Round 3 DVD. It's good, a little short though. Haslam, Lutzka, Mullen, and suprisingly for me Ryan Sheckler all had good parts.
I also got "WHAT TOUR? Girl and Chocolate in Austraila" that I'm about to watch with my magazine...
